PACKAGING

Challenge:
Alg Seaweed had successfully transitioned from local markets to being stocked in over 50 Woolworths stores, but the brand faced the challenge of standing out in the busy supermarket shelf. With increased competition and a need for broader appeal, Alg Seaweed required a brand and packaging solution that would not only attract attention but also stay true to the founder’s vision of bringing health and flavour to Australian tables. Additionally, the brand needed to be flexible enough to grow across new categories in the future.

Approach:
We partnered with Alg Seaweed to develop a brand identity and packaging design that celebrated the brand’s natural roots while positioning it for growth. The packaging was designed to reflect the health-conscious, sustainable nature of the product, while also communicating the brand’s ability to bring flavour and nutrition to everyday meals.

The design needed to stand out on the shelf without overwhelming the consumer. We incorporated bold colours and minimalist typography, focusing on clarity and impact. We also made sure that the packaging could evolve across multiple product categories, keeping the core brand values intact while providing room for future expansion.

Outcome:
The refreshed packaging successfully helped Alg Seaweed stand out in Woolworths stores, gaining the attention of health-conscious consumers looking for tasty, sustainable options. The brand now communicates its core values of health and flavour with clarity, allowing it to grow beyond its initial product offering. The packaging also provided the flexibility needed to expand into new categories, positioning Alg Seaweed for continued growth and success in the competitive supermarket space.
